Meethaq, the pioneer of Islamic banking in Oman from Bank Muscat, hosted H.E. Talal bin Suleiman Al Rahbi, Deputy Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Planning, at the eighth Majlis Meethaq evening, a unique social forum aimed at facilitating interaction with prominent personalities sharing inspirational aspects of their life and career as well as views and perspective on the economy and important social and cultural issues. The gathering held at Bank Muscat head office was attended by dignitaries and a large turnout of corporate representatives.
H.E Talal Al Rahbi talked about the current economic crisis due to volatile oil prices and pointed out that the challenge to the government was not new as similar developments had occurred earlier. Oman has the wherewithal to tackle this challenge from previous experience, he added.
Touching upon personal experiences, H.E Talal Al Rahbi pointed out that reading and travel provided valuable experiences. We are responsible for the choices we make in life and must not blame anyone for the consequences from our decisions, he added. Youth must set ambitious goals in life and develop faith to achieve these goals. Everyone has a social responsibility and must make valuable contributions to community development, H.E Talal Al Rahbi said.
