Titan Watches plans to invest RO5mn and open 60 to 80 new outlets in the Sultanate in the next five years, says H G Raghunath, CEO, Watches and Accessories Division, Titan Company Limited in a chat with Oommen John P.

Titan Watches, the world’s fifth largest watchmaker, which is part of the TATA Group, one of India’s largest multinational conglomerates, has planned to invest RO5mn in the Sultanate in the next five years.

H G Raghunath, CEO, watches and accessories division, Titan Company Limited, who was in Muscat recently to celebrate two decades of success in the Sultanate says, “The Sultanate is a key market for Titan in the Middle East. Currently, Titan is among the top three brands in the Sultanate with a customer base in excess of 100,000. Our plan is to increase the customer base significantly in the years to come. We also intend to open 60 to 80 more new outlets in the Sultanate to take the number to 150 as part of the company’s Vision 2020. We will be expanding and setting up outlets in the interior regions of Oman and also at the new malls that are coming up. Titan is one of the few brands to sustain and grow in a dynamic manner.” Plans are also on the anvil to launch the latest eyewear products in the Sultanate, he says.

Titan, he says, has planned to increase its customer base to 10 million in the GCC market in the next five years. The company is committed to strengthen its presence across the GCC region and caters to the evolving preferences of its customers, including the local populace. Overall, Titan has been growing at 12 to 13 per cent in the GCC markets. Customers have shown a lot of interest in the brand. They prefer the brand because of the product range, quality and the new collection and designs.

Parasuram Iyer, deputy general manager, Bahwan Electronics said, “Our journey with Titan Watches began two decades ago when Titan Watches was launched in the Sultanate. Over the years, Bahwan Electronics has been working with its principals, dealers and customers to strengthen ‘Brand Titan’ in Oman.”

To celebrate 20 years in the GCC, the latest generation of two best-selling ranges, Titan Raga and Titan HTSE timepieces, were unveiled at the event along with some of Titan’s best products. Apart from bringing unique collections such as Raga – its exclusive ladies range, Edge – the slimmest watch in the world, HTSE – light powered watches, Octane – chronographs, and Orion – stylish, classical watches, Titan had also brought forth Henna – a collection specially created for women in this region, celebrating the millennia-old tradition of henna. “Women’s safety has been a concern in countries such as India. In this backdrop, we are thinking of developing a watch for women’s safety,” says Raghunath.

On the occasion, Titan Watches and Bahwan Electronics also announced a promotion, offering customers an opportunity to win exciting prizes ranging from the bumper prize- a car to LED TVs, washing machines and laptops.
