Private sector creates 10,000 jobs for locals in two months

The Ministry of Manpower (MoM) has said that 10,342 male and female citizens were appointed in private sector establishments from December 3, 2017 to February 12, 2018.

This is in continuation of the efforts exerted by all government and private institutions to provide opportunities for job seekers as approved by the Council of Ministers, the ministry stated.

MoM said of all those who found jobs, 5,162 hold qualifications below General Education Diploma (GED), comprising 50 per cent of the total appointees.

Some 3,385 appointees hold GED, while 1,795 hold university diploma and higher certificates.
